Frequently asked questions
about dynamic content in Slider Revolution
Dynamic content refers to text, images, metadata, and other elements that change based on certain conditions.
For instance, if you’ve ever returned to an ecommerce site you previously shopped at, you might see sections with product recommendations relevant to your purchases. Another common example is in email marketing when you receive mass communications that are addressed specifically to your name.
While dynamic content is often associated with personalized content these days, it pertains to any content that is conditional. So, it also includes sections that import varying content based on a set of parameters, like blog post rating, sale price, date of publication, and more.
No, not with Slider Revolution.
You’ll find that within the Module Content settings of each template you edit (or module you build from-scratch), you have the ability to choose your content source. The default setting is “Custom”, which means you manually add the content to your designs.
However, you also have the ability to enable automatic imports from:
Posts
WooCommerce
Flickr
Instagram
Facebook
YouTube
Vimeo
Select the source to import your content from. Then choose the settings that decide what will be dynamically presented to your visitors on the frontend.
One other thing you’ll need to do is add metadata to certain layers within your design that tell Slider Revolution which bit of data to display in each field (like a blog post title in a specific Text field). But if you start with one of our dynamic content templates, most of that will be set up for you already.
In most areas of your website, static content will suffice. However, if you have a constant stream of new content being published to your website, store, or social media, dynamic content sections would be incredibly beneficial to have.
For starters, dynamic content sections create a hands-free way for you to keep your promotional content updated. Once you “Publish” your new content, you won’t need to return to your promo sections to update them. The dynamic settings in Slider Revolution will automatically pull the relevant data in for you.
In addition, dynamic content sections create an overall more engaging user experience. And when you design them with Slider Revolution, you have the added bonus of making them super visually engaging.
By showcasing your ever-changing rotation of content with Slider Revolution, you can create interactive and engaging experiences that encourage visitors to explore more of your site.
With Slider Revolution, you can set up website sliders, carousels, hero sections, and one-page websites to automatically import content from:
Blog posts or categories
WooCommerce products or variants
Instagram feed
Facebook timeline or photo album
YouTube channel
Vimeo video collection
Flickr account
In addition, you’re able to configure different settings or rules that decide which content is shown. For instance, for an ecommerce product carousel, you can use traits like prices, number of sales, remaining quantity, and release date to dictate which products appear at any given time.
You can place dynamic content anywhere you want. However, it most commonly appears above-the-fold on the home page or just above the footer on other pages.
For example, you can use Slider Revolution to create the following kinds of dynamic content sections:
- Hero section slider at the top of the home page that promotes five blog posts with the most comments this week
- Carousel at the top of the products search page that shows off the most popular shoe categories
- Full-width section at the bottom of the home page that shows your five most recent Instagram posts
