Why Does This Error Occur?
Some common reasons for the error to occur include:
- You might need to re-register the license key for the plugin.
- The Slider Revolution plugin may not be up to date.
- The addon may not be up to date.
Solution 1: Reset License Key
The “Addon Could Not Be Activated” error could occur if the license key is not recognized in case a connection is lost from the ThemePunch server.
To check the ThemePunch server’s connection, navigate to the Slider Revolution dashboard and scroll down to the System Requirements section:
Click on the reload icon to check for the ThemePunch Server connection:
If a warning icon appears against the ThemePunch Server, contact your hosting provider for help with white-listing the following URLs:
*.themepunch.tools
*.themepunch-ext-a.tools
Once the ThemePunch server requirement shows the green tick, de-register and re-register the license key.
If your license key is locked and cannot be activated, follow this guide to unlock it.

Solution 2: Update the Slider Revolution Plugin

Solution 3: Update Addon
If you’re having trouble activating a specific addon, it’s best to update it first. However, to avoid potential conflicts, we recommend that you keep all add-ons up to date.
To update an addon, go to the Slider Revolution dashboard:
Go to the Addons panel:
Click the Check for Updates button:
Either click the Update All button to update all addons, or select the specific addon causing the activation issue and click the Update Now button to update just that one.
Note: Updating a single plugin will only be helpful if the latest version of any other add-on is not working as expected and you manually reverted to the older version.
