The General section of the Global Settings has introduced three new options: the Rendering Engine, the SR7 Data Load Method, and the SR7 Feed Load Method. Let’s explore what these options do.

Rendering Engine

We have just introduced our latest rendering engine, SR7 “Velocity.” This advanced engine is designed for superior performance and enhanced features. SR7 Data Load Method

The SR7 Data Load Method is a user-friendly feature that determines how Slider Revolution loads content like images and videos for your sliders [?] A slider is a type of module that contains multiple slides. You can only see one slide at a time, a distinguishing features that makes sliders different from carousels.

The slides of a slider can be panned through either by using navigation controls such as arrows and tabs, or by clicking and dragging. They can also be set to automatically transition from one slide to the next.
. By choosing the correct method, you can ensure efficient loading and a smooth user experience.

Smart Loading

The Smart Loading method dynamically loads only the visible slider content. As users navigate, additional assets load as needed. This optimizes performance by reducing initial load times and only using resources when necessary, making your website faster.

The Preloading method loads all slider assets before displaying the slider. This ensures that once the slider appears, all content is ready, providing seamless playback. It can result in longer initial load times but guarantees no delays during slider navigation.

The On-Demand Loading method fetches assets only when they’re about to be displayed. This reduces initial load time, as only the first slide’s assets load upfront. There might be slight delays when moving between slides. However, it benefits websites with extensive sliders or users with slower internet connections.

SR7 Feeds Load Method

The SR7 Feeds Load Method defines how Slider Revolution loads content feeds into your sliders, such as social media posts or dynamic content. Selecting the appropriate method ensures efficient content delivery and a smooth viewing experience. The main options are Preloading and On-Demand Loading.

The Preloading method loads all feed content before displaying the slider. This ensures that all dynamic content is ready to view when the slider appears, providing a seamless experience without delays. However, this may lead to longer initial load times.

The On-Demand Loading method fetches feed content only when it is about to be displayed. This reduces the initial load time, as content is loaded incrementally. While there may be slight delays when new content is fetched, this method benefits users with slower internet connections. It reduces the amount of data loaded upfront.

Clear SR7 Migrated Tables

Clicking the Clear SR7 Tables button will remove all previously migrated data to the SR7 engine database:

Template Editing Guide

This option enables an editing guide popup that appears every time you click on any module [?] A module in Slider Revolution acts as a container for slides, which in turn act as containers for layers. Modules are created and edited with the module editor.

A "module" is a single, self contained piece of content. You can think of this as being similar to the way a post or page in regular WordPress is a self contained piece of content.

A module can represent any kind of content Slider Revolution is capable of creating, such as a slider, carousel, hero unit, navigation menu, posts display and so on.

Options Removed From Global Settings in SR7

The options listed below have been removed from the SR7 Global Settings.

The entire section has been removed from the global settings for the SR7 engine, but it remains accessible in the SR6 engine. This is a significant change that you need to be aware of.

Modules Optimization

These options have been removed from the global settings for the SR7 engine. However, it’s reassuring to know they are still available in the SR6 engine, providing a familiar environment for those who prefer it.

Default Lazy Loading in Modules

The lazy loading in SR7 has been replaced with two options: SR7 Data Load Method and SR7 Feeds Load Method, which are available under the General options in the Global Settings.

SR7 does not feature a dedicated lazy load option for background [?] A "background" in Slider Revolution is a type of layer that is always present in every module, and is always visually behind all other layers.

A background can be transparent, a flat color, a gradient, an image, or a video. It can be animated in the same way as other layers can be, however it cannot be deleted.
