Accessibility Panel

The Accessibility panel is accessed by going to the Module Editor, then the Top Bar, then clicking the Settings button to open the Settings Sidebar, and finally clicking Accessibility.

In the Accessibility panel configure how the module works with screen readers, including whether ARIA attributes are added, whether slide changes are announced, and the accessible labels used for the module's navigation controls.

Screen Reader Support Section

In the Screen Reader Support section turn on ARIA attributes for the module, and choose whether slide changes are announced to screen readers.

Enable ARIA Attributes (Toggle)

Sets whether Slider Revolution adds ARIA attributes to the module and its navigation controls, exposing them to screen readers. Turning this on reveals the Navigation Elements section, where the navigation controls' accessible labels and screen reader behavior are configured. Defaults to on.

With ARIA attributes added, each slide carries a name taken from its title, or Slide 1, Slide 2 and so on where it has none. Only the slide currently on screen is exposed to a screen reader, and the rest are hidden until the module moves to them. The slides are announced together as a group with the role description slide.

Layers are kept hidden from screen readers unless a layer is set otherwise, because most layers are decorative. Two kinds of layer are exposed without being set that way, an image carrying alt text, and a link or button once it takes keyboard focus.

A module saved with Enable ARIA Attributes turned off keeps it off. The default applies only where the setting has never been saved either way, so it does not override a choice already made.

Options:

• _On: ARIA attributes are added, and the Navigation Elements section becomes available.
• _Off: No ARIA attributes are added, and the Navigation Elements section is hidden.

Announce Slide Changes (ARIA-Live) (Toggle)

Sets whether slide changes are announced to screen readers through an ARIA live region, so users are told when the module moves to a different slide. Defaults to off, because a module set to advance on its own announces every change it makes and never stops speaking.

Options:

• _On: Slide changes are announced to screen readers.
• _Off: Slide changes are not announced to screen readers.

Navigation Elements Section

In the Navigation Elements section set how the module's navigation controls are exposed to screen readers, and the accessible label announced for each type of control.

Hide from Screen Readers (Dropdown)

Sets whether the module's navigation controls are hidden from screen readers.

Options:

• _True: The navigation controls are hidden from screen readers.
• _False: The navigation controls are exposed to screen readers.

Pressed State (Dropdown)

Sets whether the pressed state of the navigation controls, which indicates the currently active slide, is exposed to screen readers.

Options:

• _Track: The pressed state is exposed to screen readers.
• _Untrack: The pressed state is not exposed to screen readers.

Next (Text)

Sets the accessible label that screen readers announce for the control that moves the module to the next slide. Defaults to Next Slide.

Prev. (Text)

Sets the accessible label that screen readers announce for the control that moves the module to the previous slide. Defaults to Previous Slide.

Bullet (Text)

Sets the accessible label that screen readers announce for the module's bullet navigation controls. Defaults to Bullet.

Thumb (Text)

Sets the accessible label that screen readers announce for the module's thumbnail navigation controls. Defaults to Thumbnail.

Tab (Text)

Sets the accessible label that screen readers announce for the module's tab navigation controls. Defaults to Tab.
