Content Source Panel

In the Content Source panel you can configure where the content for your modules comes from, be it custom content, WordPress or WooCommerce posts, or social media streams.

The Content Source panel is accessed by going to the Top Bar, then clicking Settings to open the Settings Sidebar.

In the Content Source panel you can set where your module should draw its content from, and configure how that content is organized.

Content Source Section

Settings available in the Content Source section change depending on configuration of the Module Source setting.

Module Source (Dropdown)

Set where the content for the module will be sourced from.

The dropdown is organised into two types: Website Content Sources, from your own website, and Dynamic Social Content, from social media platforms.

Options:

  • Custom Gallery: Default. Display custom content added within the Module Editor.
  • WordPress Posts: Displays content from WordPress posts.
  • WooCommerce: Display product posts from a WooCommerce plugin installation.
  • Flickr: Display images from Flickr.
  • Instagram: Display images from Instagram.
  • Facebook: Display images from Facebook.
  • YouTube: Display videos from YouTube.
  • Vimeo: Display videos from Vimeo.

Module Post Source (Tab-switch)


  • Visible when Module Source = WordPress Posts.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts.

Set which WordPress posts are displayed.

Options:

  • All: Uses all public posts on the site.
  • Specific: Uses a specific list of posts, set via the Specific Posts -> Post IDs setting.
  • Current: Uses only content from the page where the module is embedded.

Woo Types (Multi-select)


  • Visible when Module Source = WooCommerce.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WooCommerce.

Set the types of WooCommerce posts to display, e.g. “Products” and “Product Variations”.

Multiple types can be selected.

Woo Products (Multi-select)


  • Visible when Module Source = WooCommerce.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WooCommerce.

Set the product categories to be sourced from.

Multiple categories can be selected.

Flickr API Key (Text area)


  • Visible when Module Source = Flickr.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Flickr.

Enter Flickr API Key. Required to make sourcing from Flickr work.

Instagram Token (Text area)


  • Visible when Module Source = Instagram.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Instagram.

Enter Instagram token. Required to make sourcing from Instagram work.

Facebook Token (Text area)


  • Visible when Module Source = Facebook.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Facebook.

Enter Facebook token. Required to make sourcing from Facebook work.

YouTube API Key (Text area)


  • Visible when Module Source = YouTube.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than YouTube.

Enter YouTube API key. Required to make content sourcing from YouTube work.

Connected With (Read-only)


  • Visible when Module Source = InstagramFacebook.
  • Hidden when Module Source = FlickrYouTubeVimeoCustom GalleryWordPress Posts, or WooCommerce.

Shows whether connected with a manual or account token.

Max Slides (Number, range)


  • ViVisible when Module Source = Flickr.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Flickr.

Set the maximum number of Flickr based slides to show.

Options:

  • 0: Minimum number of slides.
  • 150: Maximum number of slides

Amount of Slides (Number, range)


  • Visible when Module Source = InstagramFacebookYouTubeVimeo.
  • Hidden when Module Source = FlickrCustom GalleryWordPress Posts, or WooCommerce.

Set the amount of slides to be created from Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or Vimeo source content.

Options:

  • 0: Minimum amount of slides.
  • 25: Maximum amount of slides.

Cache (Number, range)


  • Visible when Module Source = FlickrInstagramFacebookYouTube, or Vimeo.
  • Hidden when Module Source = Custom GalleryWordPress Posts, or WooCommerce.

Duration of caching, in seconds, for content from Flickr, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or Vimeo.

Options:

  • 0: Minimum duration of cache.
  • 50000: Maximum duration of cache.

Post Selection Section


  • Visible when Module Source = WordPress Posts, and Module Post Source = All or Specific.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts, or Module Post Source = Current.

When using WordPress Posts as the content source, the Post Selection section allows you to configure which posts should be used.

Post Types (Multi-select)


  • Visible when Post Selection section is visible.
  • Hidden when Post Selection section is hidden.

Set which post types should be used as content, e.g. posts, pages, custom post types.

Fetch By (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Post Selection section is visible.
  • Hidden when Post Selection section is hidden.

Set the conditions by which posts should be fetched for use as content.

Options:

  • All Posts: Fetch posts without restriction.
  • Categories & Taxonomies: Fetch from specific categories or taxonomies.
  • Related: Fetch posts related to one another.
  • Popular: Fetch the most viewed posts.
  • Recent: Fetch the most recent posts.
  • Next/Previous: Fetch posts in publish order, next and previous.

Posts (Multi-select)


  • Visible when Post Selection section is visible and Fetch By = Categories & TaxonomiesPopular or Recent.
  • Hidden when Post Selection section is hidden or Fetch By = All PostsRelated or Next/Previous.

When fetching WordPress posts by popular, recent or categories & tags, optionally restrict posts to be drawn from specified categories.

Specific Posts Section

Post IDs (Text area)


  • Visible when Module Source = WordPress Posts, and Module Post Source = Specific.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts, or Module Post Source = All or Current.

When using specific WordPress post(s) as the content source, provide a comma separated list of post IDs to use.

Sort By Section


  • Visible when Module Source = WooCommerce, or when Module Source = WordPress Posts and Module Post Source = All or Specific.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts or WooCommerce, or when Module Source = WordPress Posts and Module Post Source = Current.

This section contains settings for configuring how WordPress posts are sorted when being fetched for use as content.

Sort by (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Sort By section is visible.
  • Hidden when Sort By section is hidden.

Set the property by which to sort the WordPress post content.

Options:

  • Post ID: Sort by post ID number.
  • Date: Sort by the publish date.
  • Title: Sort by post title.
  • Name: Sort by post permalink aka slug.
  • Author: Sort by author name.
  • Modified Date: Sort by date last modified.
  • Number of Comments: Sort by how many visitor comments.
  • Random: Random sorting, different each load.
  • Unsorted: Uses WordPress default sorting, usually by post date descending.
  • Custom Order: If fetching specific WordPress posts, use the order from the provided comma separated list.

Sort Order (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Sort By section is visible.
  • Hidden when Sort By section is hidden.

Set the direction in which sorting should be done.

Options:

  • Descending: Sort numbers largest to smallest, dates newest to oldest, text Z to A.
  • Ascending: Sort numbers smallest to largest, dates oldest to newest, text A to Z.

Limits Section


  • Visible when Module Source = WooCommerce, or when Module Source = WordPress Posts and Module Post Source = All or Specific.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts or WooCommerce, or when Module Source = WordPress Posts and Module Post Source = Current.

This section allows you to limit the number of posts, and excerpt length.

Max. Posts (Number, range)


  • Visible when Module Source = WordPress Posts and Module Post Source = All or Specific.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts or Module Post Source = Current.

Set the maximum number of posts to fetch for content.

Options:

  • 0: Minimum value for max. posts.
  • 500: Maximum value for max. posts.

Excerpt Len. (Number, range)


  • Visible when Module Source = WordPress Posts, and Module Post Source = All or Specific.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WordPress Posts or when Module Post Source = Current.

Set the maximum number of characters to use in any post excerpt used as content.

Options:

  • 0: Minimum value for excerpt character count.
  • 500: Maximum value for excerpt character count.

Filters Section


  • Visible when Module Source = WooCommerce.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than WooCommerce.

Filter WooCommerce posts according to stock and/or featured status.

In Stock Only (Toggle)


  • Visible when WooCommerce section is visible.
  • Hidden when WooCommerce section is hidden.

Set whether to show only in stock items.

Options:

  • On: Only show in stock items.
  • Off: Show out of stock items.

  • Visible when WooCommerce section is visible.
  • Hidden when WooCommerce section is hidden.

Set whether to only show featured items.

Options:

  • On: Only show featured items.
  • Off: Show non-featured items.

Flickr Source Section


  • Visible when Module Source = Flickr.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Flickr.

Configure Flickr stream source and user URL.

Flickr Stream Source (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Flickr Source section is visible.
  • HHidden when Flickr Source section is hidden.

Set where a Flickr stream should be sourced from.

Options:

  • User Public Photos: Fetch all public photos from a specified user.
  • Certain Album from User: Fetch a single album from a specified user.
  • From Gallery: Fetch images from a specified gallery.
  • From Groups: Fetch images from a specified group.

User URL (Text)


  • Visible when Flickr Source section is visible, and Flickr Stream Source = User Public Photos or Certain Album from User.
  • Hidden when Flickr Source section is hidden, or Flickr Stream Source = From Gallery or From Groups.

Provide the URL for a specific user’s public photos.

Flickr Album (Multi-select)


  • Visible when Flickr Source section is visible, and Flickr Stream Source = Certain Album from User.
  • Hidden when Flickr Source section is hidden, or Flickr Stream Source = any option other than Certain Album from User.

Select an album from a specific user to fetch.


  • Visible when Flickr Source section is visible, and Flickr Stream Source = From Gallery.
  • Hidden when Flickr Source section is hidden, or Flickr Stream Source = any option other than From Gallery.

Provide the URL for a specific gallery.

Group URL (Text)


  • Visible when Flickr Source section is visible, and Flickr Stream Source = From Groups.
  • Hidden when Flickr Source section is hidden, or Flickr Stream Source = any option other than From Groups.

Provide the URL for a specific group.

Facebook Source Section


  • Visible when Module Source = Facebook.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Facebook.

Configure Facebook page ID, stream source, and (optionally) album.

Page Id (Text)


  • Visible when Facebook Source section is visible.
  • Hidden when Facebook Source section is hidden.

Provide the ID of the page to be sourced for content.

Facebook Stream Source (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Facebook Source section is visible.
  • HiHidden when Facebook Source section is hidden.

Set whether Facebook content should be sourced from an album or timeline.

Options:

  • Album: Source images from an album.
  • Timeline: Source images from a timeline.

Facebook Album (Multi-select)


  • Visible when Facebook Source section is visible, and Facebook Stream Source = Album.
  • Hidden when Facebook Source section is hidden, or Facebook Stream Source = Timeline.

If sourcing an album for content, set which album to use.

YouTube Source Section


  • Visible when Module Source = YouTube.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than YouTube.

Configure YouTube channel ID, stream source and playlist.

Channel Id (Text)


  • Visible when YouTube Source section is visible.
  • Hidden when YouTube Source section is hidden.

Set the ID of the channel from which to source YouTube videos.

YouTube Stream Source (Dropdown)


  • Visible when YouTube Source section is visible.
  • Hidden when YouTube Source section is hidden.

Set whether to source YouTube videos from the whole channel, or from specific playlist(s).

Options:

  • Channel: Source videos from entire channel.
  • Playlist: Source videos from specific playlist(s).

Playlist (Multi-select)


  • Visible when YouTube Source section is visible, and YouTube Stream Source = Playlist.
  • Hidden when YouTube Source section is hidden, or YouTube Stream Source = Channel.

Set which playlist(s) to source videos from.

Vimeo Source Section


  • Visible when Module Source = Vimeo.
  • Hidden when Module Source = any option other than Vimeo.

Configure Vimeo stream.

Vimeo Stream Source (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Vimeo Source section is visible.
  • Hidden when Vimeo Source section is hidden.

Set the type of Vimeo stream source.

Options:

  • User: Source videos from a specific user.
  • Showcase: Source videos from a showcase:
  • Group: Source videos from a specific group.
  • Channel: Source videos from a specific channel.

User Name (Text)


  • Visible when Vimeo Source section is visible, and Vimeo Stream Source = User.
  • Hidden when Vimeo Source section is hidden, or Vimeo Stream Source = any option other than User.

If sourcing videos from a user, enter the user name to source from.

Showcase ID (Text)


  • Visible when Vimeo Source section is visible, and Vimeo Stream Source = Showcase.
  • Hidden when Vimeo Source section is hidden, or Vimeo Stream Source = any option other than Showcase.

If sourcing videos from a showcase, enter the ID of the showcase to fetch.

Group Name (Text)


  • Visible when Vimeo Source section is visible, and Vimeo Stream Source = Group.
  • Hidden when Vimeo Source section is hidden, or Vimeo Stream Source = any option other than Group.

If sourcing videos from a group, enter the name of the group to fetch from.

Channel Name (Text)


  • Visible when Vimeo Source section is visible, and Vimeo Stream Source = Channel.
  • Hidden when Vimeo Source section is hidden, or Vimeo Stream Source = any option other than Channel.

If sourcing videos from a channel, enter the name of the channel to fetch from.
