Modules Section

In the Modules section of the Plugin Dashboard you can manage your modules, create new modules, and jump directly into slides to edit them.

Modules Section


Go to the Plugin Dashboard and scroll to the area below the Updates/License tabs, then:

In the Modules section of the Plugin Dashboard, located below the Updates/License tabs, you can create new modules as well as manage all the existing modules on your site.

Overview Menu

The Overview Menu is located at the top of the Modules Section, and has the label Your Modules.

From this menu you can create and import modules, search the Module Library, and manage modules.

Toolbar Section

The Toolbar section is in the center of the Overview Menu and contains three buttons.

Note that the three buttons here are replaced with different buttons if Multi-select mode is activated, described below.

New (Button)

Click to create new module.

Opens the New Module Creator, described below.

Import (Button)

Click to import a zip file of a previously exported module into the Module Library.

Search (Button)

Click to open a search field through which you can search for a module by words in its title.

Right Bar Section

The Right Bar section is at the right end of the Overview Menu and contains five buttons.

List/Tile Toggle (Button)

Switch the display of the Module Library between List and Tile mode.

Options:

  • List: Show library items in a stacked vertical list.
  • Tile: Show library items in rows of tiles.

Filter (Button)

Filter which items appear in the Module Library according to module type.

Options:

  • All: Show all module types.
  • Hero: Show only Hero modules.
  • Carousel: Show only Carousel modules.
  • Slider: Show only Slider modules.

Sort (Button)

Change the sorting order of items in the Module Library.

Options:

  • Title Ascending (A to Z)
  • Title Descending (Z to A)
  • Creation Date (Newest first)
  • Creation Date (Oldest first)

Add Folder (Button)

Add a new folder to the Module Library, into which multiple modules can be organized.

Multi-select (Button)

Click to activate multi-select mode. Click a second time to deactivate multi-select mode.

In this mode multiple items can be selected by clicking them, or deselected by clicking them a second time. Selected items display an opaque blue check-mark 1, while deselected items display a transparent blue check-mark 2.

The Toolbar section changes to show new buttons, whose function will apply to all selected items 3.

The new buttons are:

  • Delete: Delete all selected items.
  • Export: Export all selected items in a format suitable for re-importing into Slider Revolution.
  • Group: Create a new folder and move the selected items into it.

New Module Creator

The New Module Creator is opened by clicking the New button in the Toolbar section of the Overview Menu.

Creation Method (Select)

The first page of the new module creator is the Creation Method selector, where you choose the method of module creation you would like to use.

Options:

  • Start from Scratch: Creates a new blank module with default settings.
  • Quick Start Generator: Opens the Quick Start Generator, described below.
  • Use a Pre-built Template: Opens the Template Library, where you can select a template from which a new module will be created.

Quick Start Generator

The Quick Start Generator allows you to get the foundation of a module setup, using a selection of slide templates, without it being as fully complete as is a module template.

Module Type (Tab Switch)

Select the module Type to create.

Configures the Type setting found in the Module Editor under Top Bar -> Settings button -> Settings Sidebar -> Module Configuration panel -> Basic tab -> Type section.

Options:

  • Hero: Single slide, navigation controls not active.
  • Slider: Multiple slides, one slide visible at a time, navigation controls active.
  • Carousel: Multiple slides, multiple slides visible at a time, navigation controls active.

Slide Selection Count (Read only, text)

Displays how many slide templates have been selected for use in the module. (At least one is needed. Reads “Select one or more slides” until a slide template is selected).

Color Filter (Dropdown)

Set whether to show dark colored slide templates, light colored, or both.

Options:

  • Dark: Show only dark colored slide templates.
  • Light: Show only light colored slide templates.
  • Dark & Light: Show both dark and light colored slide templates.

Design Filter (Dropdown)

Set whether to show bold design style slides, fine design style slides, or both.

Options:

  • Bold Design: Show only bold style slide templates.
  • Fine Design: Show only fine style slide templates.
  • Bold & Fine Design: Show both bold and fine style slide templates.

Slide Templates (Image Select)

Preview tiles for the slide templates available to select. Each selected slide will be added into the module.

There are multiple pages of slide templates. Click the arrows on the left and right sides to navigate between pages.

Module Size (Dropdown)

Set how the width and height of the module should be handled.

Configures the Full Width and Full Height settings found in the Module Editor under Top Bar -> Settings button -> Settings Sidebar -> Module Configuration panel -> Basic tab -> Type section.

Options:

  • Auto: The width of the module will fit to its parent container. The height will stay fixed. Full Width and Full Height toggled to Off.
  • Full Width: The width of the module will expand to the full viewport width. The height will stay fixed. Full Width toggled to On. Full Height toggled to Off.
  • Full Screen: The width and height of the module will expand to the full viewport size. Full Width toggled to On. Full Height toggled to On.

Transition Animation (Dropdown)

Set the style of animation to use when transitioning from one slide to the next.

Options:

  • Slide Animation: Transitioning slides will slide horizontally.
  • Fade Animation: Transitioning slides will fade in.
  • Zoom Animation: Transitioning slides will zoom in.

Navigation (Dropdown)


  • Visible when Module Type set to Slider or Carousel.
  • Hidden when Module Type set to Hero

Set what kind of navigation items to add.

Options:

  • Bullets & Arrows: Use both navigation bullets and arrows.
  • Bullets: Use navigation bullets.
  • Arrows: Use navigation arrows.
  • None: Don’t use any navigation items.

Auto Play (Toggle)


  • Visible when Module Type set to Slider or Carousel.
  • Hidden when Module Type set to Hero

Set whether slides should automatically progress.

Options:

  • On: Slides automatically progress after a few seconds.
  • Off: Slides only progress if a navigation item is clicked.

Create Hero/Slider Module (Button)

When ready, click the Create Hero/Create Slider button to generate a module based on your selected settings and slide templates.

Modules Library

The Modules Library displays all the modules that have been created on the site. From this area modules, slides and folders can be browsed and managed.

Breadcrumbs


  • Visible when viewing a folder, or a module’s slides.
  • Hidden when viewing the Root level.

When you browse into a folder, or into a module’s slides, a breadcrumb trail appears to assist with navigation.

Links to parent folders are denoted by folder icons 1, and collections of slides are denoted by a slide icon 2. Click the Root item 3 to return back to the top level.

Library Item

The Module Library can display any of four types of items: Modules 1, Folders 2, Slides 3 and Back to Parent buttons 4.

Item types:

  • Modules: Modules that have been added to the library.
  • Folders: Folders, used to house and organize multiple modules. Drag a Module library item and drop it on a Folder to move it into that folder.
  • Slides: Direct access to the slides within a module.
  • Back to Parent buttons: If navigating in a folder, or a module’s slides, click to return to the parent level.

Thumbnail (Image)

Displays a thumbnail preview image of the module or slide.

Note, the module thumbnail is drawn from the thumbnail of the first slide.

Open Folder (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Folder, and is being hovered over.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Folder, or the item is not being hovered.

On a Folder library item, click the Open Folder icon 1 to browse the folder’s content.

View Slide Items (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module which contains multiple Slides, and is being hovered over.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module, or contains only one Slide, or the item is not being hovered.

On a Module library item, click the View Slide Items icon 1 to browse the module’s slides.

Edit Item (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module or Slide, and is being hovered over.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module or Slide, or the item is not being hovered.

Click the Edit Item button 1 to open the module or slide in the Module Editor.

Title (Read Only)

Displays the title of the module, folder or slide.

Labels (Read Only)

Displays the type of library item, and displays a Premium label on modules created from premium templates.

Expand Item Menu (Button)


  • Visible when a Library Item is being hovered over.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not being hovered over.

Click to open the Item Menu, described below, for additional management tools.

Item Menu

The Item Menu contains additional management tools for modules, slides and folders.

Embed (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module.

Opens the Module Embedding Window, which provides information on embedding the module, as well as copy-paste ready shortcodes and PHP snippets.

Export (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module.

Export the module in a format that can be re-imported into Slider Revolution.

HTML (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module.

Export the module as HTML so it can be used in environments other than WordPress.

Duplicate (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module or Slide.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module or Slide.

Duplicate the module or slide.

Preview (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module.

Preview the module in a new tab.

Rename (Button)

Rename the module, slide or folder.

Thumb (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Module or Slide.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Module or Slide.

Update the Thumbnail image for the module or slide.

Optimize (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Slide.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Slide.

Run optimization on the images in the slide.

Optimizations are made according to the settings found via Plugin Dashboard -> Top Bar -> Settings button -> Global Settings panel -> Optimization tab -> Image Optimization section.

Delete (Button)

Delete the module, slide or folder.

Unpublish/Publish (Button)


  • Visible when the Library Item is a Slide.
  • Hidden when the Library Item is not a Slide.

Unpublish or publish the slide. Does not affect the published status of other slides.

Pagination

Use the pagination links, located below the Modules Library on the right side, to help navigate libraries containing several modules.

Per Page (Dropdown)

Set how many library items to show per page.

Options:

  • (Number) Per Page: Set the number of library items to show per page.
  • Show all items: Show the entire collection of library items on one page.

Page Selector (Buttons)

Click to jump directly to a given page of modules.
