Visibility Panel

The Visibility panel is accessed by selecting a layer via the Canvas or Layers sidebar, and in the Right Sidebar clicking the Design icon ¹ to enter Design Mode. Then click the Visibility tab icon to open the Visibility panel ².

Through the Visibility panel you control which device layouts a layer appears on, whether it appears only while the module is hovered, and, for layers on the Static Slide, which range of slides it spans.

The panel is available for every type of layer except the Slide Background, which has no visibility settings of its own. With the Slide Background selected the Visibility tab is greyed out and cannot be clicked.

Visibility Section

In the Visibility section choose which of the five device layouts the layer appears on, and set the conditions that override normal display.

The five device layouts are Slider Revolution’s built-in breakpoints. Every module has all five, and the screen widths each one covers are set in the Plugin Dashboard, by clicking Settings in the Top Bar to open the Global Settings panel, then going to its Breakpoints tab. Turning a device layout off here hides the layer on that layout only, leaving it visible on the others.

Wide Screen (Checkbox)

Show the layer on the Wide Screen device layout, which is the widest of the five and covers the largest desktop displays.

Options:

• _Checked: The layer appears on the Wide Screen layout.
• _Unchecked: The layer is hidden on the Wide Screen layout.

Desktop (Checkbox)

Show the layer on the Desktop device layout, which covers standard desktop and laptop displays.

Options:

• _Checked: The layer appears on the Desktop layout.
• _Unchecked: The layer is hidden on the Desktop layout.

Notebook (Checkbox)

Show the layer on the Notebook device layout, which covers smaller laptop displays sitting between desktop and tablet widths.

Options:

• _Checked: The layer appears on the Notebook layout.
• _Unchecked: The layer is hidden on the Notebook layout.

Tablet (Checkbox)

Show the layer on the Tablet device layout.

Options:

• _Checked: The layer appears on the Tablet layout.
• _Unchecked: The layer is hidden on the Tablet layout.

Mobile (Checkbox)

Show the layer on the Mobile device layout, which is the narrowest of the five and covers phones.

Options:

• _Checked: The layer appears on the Mobile layout.
• _Unchecked: The layer is hidden on the Mobile layout.

Visible if Module Hovered (Toggle)

Show the layer only while the pointer is over the module, hiding it again when the pointer leaves. Use this for controls and captions that should stay out of the way until the visitor engages with the module.

Always Visible on Carousel (Toggle)

Keep the layer visible across the module when it uses the carousel layout, rather than only on the slide currently in focus.

Show Global Layer Section

In the Show Global Layer section set the range of slides a global layer spans.

Layers placed on the Static Slide appear on top of every slide in the module rather than belonging to one of them, which is what makes them global. The two settings here narrow that range, so a global layer can be made to appear across only part of the module. A newly added global layer starts at the first slide and runs to the last, so it spans everything until changed.

From Slide (Dropdown)

Set the first slide the global layer appears on. The layer is absent from every slide before this one. The list holds one entry per slide in the module, so it grows and shrinks as slides are added and removed.

Options:

• _{Slide Index 1}: One entry is listed for each slide in the module, numbered in slide order. The global layer begins on the slide chosen.

Till Slide (Dropdown)

Set the last slide the global layer appears on. The layer is absent from every slide after this one. The list holds one entry per slide in the module plus a Last option.

Options:

• _{Slide Index 1}: One entry is listed for each slide in the module, numbered in slide order. The global layer stops after the slide chosen.
• _Last: The global layer runs to the final slide in the module, and keeps doing so as slides are added and removed.
